BRONX, NY – Jean Carlo Jimenez, a 33-year-old resident of the Bronx, has been sentenced to a total of 63 years to life in prison for a stabbing spree that resulted in the deaths of his father and ex-girlfriend, and severely wounded his brother.
The sentence was delivered by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Marsha Michael.
The incident occurred on March 1, 2020, at 2138 Gleason Avenue. Jimenez stabbed his father, Ramon Emilio Jimenez Sr., and his brother, Ramon Emilio Jimenez Jr., during a dispute.
He then proceeded to his ex-girlfriend Mercy Capacette’s residence at 2004 Ellis Avenue, where he stabbed her 47 times. Ramon Sr. succumbed to his injuries on April 16, 2020, while his brother continues to suffer from the attack’s aftermath.
The case was adjudicated after a six-week jury trial, with Jimenez found guilty of second-degree murder, attempted murder, and criminal possession of a weapon.
