WASHINGTON, DC – A tragic collision on Bladensburg Road resulted in the deaths of two men when their vehicle struck a utility pole after being hit by another car on Sunday afternoon.
The D.C. Metro Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit is currently examining the details of a deadly traffic accident that occurred in Northeast D.C., which took the lives of two men. The event unfolded on Bladensburg Road in the 3200 block, where a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, attempting to turn into a gas station, collided with a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro. The impact forced the Camaro into a nearby utility pole.
The Camaro’s occupants, Thaddeus Nelson, 28, from Northwest D.C., and Ivan Young, Jr., 34, from Bryans Road, Maryland, were declared deceased at the scene. The Malibu’s driver remained after the incident and is actively participating with law enforcement as they continue their inquiry.
