Confrontation Escalates to Gunfire, Leaving One Critical

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, OH – A confrontation over an alleged theft escalated to gunfire, resulting in critical injuries for one individual last Friday morning.

Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the junction of South Union Road and Derby Road at approximately 10:07 a.m.

Upon arrival, first responders located a 52-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his upper body. The victim received medical attention and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

A 58-year-old suspect was apprehended at the scene. The suspect is now in custody at the Montgomery County Jail, with charges pending a review by the prosecutor’s office.

The incident is under further investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. Witnesses or individuals with pertinent information are asked to come forward to assist with the case.
