WASHINGTON, D.C. – It was a somber end for two teen joyriders, one in a stolen car, another in a car she carjacked yesterday crashed into a car stolen last week out of Maryland .
Metropolitan Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old girl and the arrest of a another 15-year-old girl.
The investigation into the bizarre crash revealed that early yesterday morning, at around 1:47 a.m., the 16-year-old, identified as Kendra Outlaw, was driving a Honda Pilot at excessive speed. She lost control of the vehicle at the traffic circle at Brentwood Road and Bryant Street, Northeast. The car hit a utility pole, overturned, struck another car, and came to a halt. Outlaw was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Toyota Camry, also speeding, failed to navigate the same traffic circle and crashed into a retaining wall. Three occupants abandoned the Camry; two fled, while a 15-year-old female stayed and was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.
Both the Honda Pilot and Toyota Camry had been stolen; the Honda was carjacked yesterday at the 3700 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast, and the Toyota was taken last Wednesday in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
