Three Men Arrested in Connection with Fatal Greenville Shooting

GREENVILLE, N.C. – A deadly shooting occurred last night in Greenville leading to the arrest of three individuals.

Trevon Jenkins, 25, and Dashaun Payton, 29, face charges of murder. Additionally, Xysean Mayfield, 18, is charged with felony accessory after the fact.

The incident took place near the Red Oak Grill and Grocery on Greenville Boulevard around 7 p.m. According to Chief Ted Sauls, it is suspected that the shots were fired from a vehicle aiming at specific victims.

During the chaos, a vehicle crashed into the store. The aftermath of the shooting left 19-year-old Saquan Santiago dead near the store’s parking lot. Another victim, 18-year-old Kemari Ruffin, was found inside the business and later transported to ECU Health Medical Center with grave injuries.

An unidentified 17-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and received treatment on site, while Itzel Martin, 18, who was driving past the store, suffered from a bullet wound and was taken to ECU Health with non-life-threatening injuries.
