Violent Home Invasion In Rosedale Ends With Theft of $90,000 Worth of Jewelry

NEW YORK, NY – A 36-year-old male resident suffered lacerations to his head during a violent home invasion involving two unknown assailants armed with a rifle.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 19, 2023, around 12:40 PM within the vicinity of 243rd Street & 140th Avenue. One of the intruders brandished a rifle and struck the victim multiple times, causing head injuries. The second intruder removed a safe from the victim’s bedroom, which contained jewelry valued at an estimated $90,000 and an undetermined amount of cash. The suspects fled the scene westbound on 140th Avenue in a white Jeep.

The victim was transported to Franklin Medical Center in Nassau County, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

Both suspects are described as males with dark complexions and heavy builds. The first was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black sneakers. The second wore a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, black mask, black pants, and black sneakers.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
