Repeat Offender Arrested for 5th DUI and Drug Charges in Greenwood

GREENWOOD, DE – Delaware State Police have taken into custody Dwayne L. Waltman, a 32-year-old resident of Milford, Delaware, marking his 5th offense for Driving Under the Influence (DUI), along with other criminal and traffic-related charges. The arrest was made on Monday, in Greenwood, Delaware.

The incident occurred on the evening of October 16, 2023, at around 9:00 p.m., when a patrolling trooper near Unity Lane and Deep Branch Road in Greenwood noticed a white male operating a black Dodge pickup truck. A subsequent computer check revealed that the vehicle’s owner, Dwayne Waltman, had a revoked driver’s license. The trooper confirmed that the driver matched the description of the registered owner, prompting a traffic stop.

As the vehicle halted on Shawnee Road, Waltman was seen disposing of drug paraphernalia out of the window. Upon approaching the driver, now identified as Waltman, the trooper noticed signs of impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Testing confirmed Waltman was under the influence, leading to his arrest without any altercation. Further inspection of the pickup truck unveiled additional drug paraphernalia.

Waltman now faces his 5th DUI offense and additional charges related to drug possession and traffic violations.
