VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Starting Saturday, October 21, a heightened traffic enforcement initiative will be launched by the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) to enhance road safety across the city. The initiative, spanning several weeks, will leverage officers from the Special Operations Bureau, supplemented by precinct personnel, to intensively patrol identified areas of concern.

The enforcement drive will be operational in all four precincts of the city, focusing on regions where past data has spotlighted high incidences of crashes, including severe injury and fatal accidents, alongside areas pinpointed through community feedback.

The core aim of this operation, as outlined by the VBPD, is to ameliorate the safety of the city’s roadways for both motorists and pedestrians. By honing in on these identified areas and enforcing traffic laws rigorously, a decline in perilous driving behaviors and a subsequent reduction in crash numbers in Virginia Beach is anticipated.
