UPPER MARLBORO, MD – An Upper Marlboro resident, generally attracted to the allure of nine- or 10-digit Powerball prizes, recently found himself $100,008 richer despite the jackpot not reaching his usual billion-dollar threshold for participation. The Prince George’s County player won the six-digit sum when the Powerball jackpot was north of $1.5 billion.

“I play when the jackpot is high, when it gets close to the billion mark,” the winner shared, describing himself as low-key about the games he enters.

Although he missed out on the billion-dollar bounty, the six-digit windfall has him pondering whether to play the Lottery more frequently. When asked about his future plans, he equivocally responded, “I’m not sure.”

As for the current Powerball and Mega Millions top prizes, which have reset to $49 million and $69 million respectively, the man remains undeterred. He stated his intention to re-enter the games only when the jackpots soar back into the astronomical ranges he finds appealing.

Meanwhile, the winner plans to invest his $100,008 prize, projecting that interest rates could yield 5% to 6% returns on his investment. The fortunate ticket was purchased at Express Mart, located at 15709 Hall Road in Bowie.
