Woman Arrested Following Assault in Cumberland

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department reported an arrest made last Sunday, around 1:07 PM, following an assault incident.

Officers arrived at a residence on the 300 block of Columbia Street after reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers found a victim who claimed she had been assaulted by Heather Renee Windle, a 48-year-old resident of Cumberland.

The victim’s injuries were consistent with her statement. Windle was subsequently arrested and transported to the police headquarters.

After her hearing with a District Court Commissioner, Windle was released on her personal recognizance.
