Clifton Police Investigate Two More Nighttime Residential Burglaries

The Clifton Police Department in New Jersey is alerting residents about two additional nighttime residential burglaries over the weekend. These latest incidents add to the growing concern about home break-ins in the area.

The first of these incidents occurred in the early morning hours of October 13 on Friar Lane. At approximately 4:30 a.m., suspects attempted to gain entry into a residence by forcing open a bathroom window. When that failed, they tried to force the front door open but were unsuccessful in entering the home.

The second burglary took place on October 15 at around 4:45 a.m. on Conklin Drive. Homeowners woke up to find a masked intruder, armed with a flashlight, inside one of their bedrooms. Upon being noticed, the suspects—believed to be at least two—quickly fled the scene. A later investigation revealed that the suspects entered through an unlocked bathroom window and made off with various jewelry and personal belongings. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

Both cases are currently under investigation by the Clifton Police Department. As inquiries are ongoing, authorities are urging residents to take precautions to secure their homes and vehicles. “We are reminding all residents, regardless of what area of the city you reside, to secure your homes and vehicles to the best of your ability,” the department said in a statement.

The Clifton Police also encourage anyone who witnesses suspicious activity to contact them immediately via 911.
