TRENTON, NJ – A 17-year-old male juvenile offender was arrested and charged with weapons offenses on Tuesday, at 7:39 PM, following an incident at 113 Prospect Village.

Patrol Officers Manning, Fassnacht, and Cruse from the Trenton Police Department responded to the area following reports of a suspicious person engaged in narcotics activity.

Upon arrival, officers advised a group of males to cease congregating on a porch where they did not reside. As one of the males departed from the porch, Officer Manning observed a non-anatomical bulge in his rear waistband area.

When ordered to stop for investigation, the juvenile attempted to flee on foot but was tackled by Officer Cruse. A Glock 17m, 9mm semi-automatic handgun containing a high-capacity magazine loaded with 24 live ammunition rounds was recovered from his person.

The juvenile was charged accordingly and lodged in the Middlesex County Youth Detention facility. The Trenton Police Department has not released further details about the incident at this time.
