ROSELLE, NJ – A Roselle man has been indicted by a Union County grand jury on 11 charges, including murder and unlawful possession of a weapon, in connection to a double homicide that occurred earlier this year.

Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel made the announcement, confirming that Everoy Morrison, 44, is facing an array of charges related to the killings.

On April 19, Roselle Police responded to a report of two missing persons at a residence on the 200 block of West 7th Avenue. Authorities later discovered the bodies of Keisha Morrison, 45, and Kelsey Morrison, 9, at the home, said Assistant Prosecutor Bryan Tiscia.

Everoy Morrison is the brother-in-law and uncle of the victims, respectively, and had reportedly been living in the home’s basement at the time of the crimes.

Alongside the murder charges, Morrison is also indicted for credit card theft, receiving stolen property, and hindering prosecution. During the initial investigation, police ascertained that Keisha Morrison’s vehicle was missing from the scene. The vehicle was later found in Maryland, and Everoy Morrison was arrested for possessing the stolen car.

The indictment came after an extensive investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force and Roselle Police Department. Additional assistance was provided by the Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit and the Maryland State Police.

“I want to assure the public that the Union County Prosecutor’s Office and our partner law enforcement agencies remain committed to tirelessly pursuing those who threaten the safety and security of the communities we serve,” said Prosecutor Daniel in a statement.

Morrison is currently in custody at the Essex County Jail, where he awaits trial.
