Teen Home Invader Shot and Killed in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, N.C. – A home invasion in Aberdeen is under investigation by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon around 4:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Forest Circle. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Tynasha Collins, 23, who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 17-year-old, identified as Darius Nicholson of Richmond County, was also shot during the incident and later died at the hospital.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Nicholson was involved in the break-in and was shot during an exchange of gunfire within the residence.

The Sheriff’s Office believes there may be at least two other individuals involved in the incident, which may be drug-related. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at (910) 947-4444.
