WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Cory Booker shared a harrowing account of his presence in Israel when the deadly attacks initiated by Hamas began last Saturday.
“I was in Israel when the horrific attacks carried out by Hamas started on Saturday,” Booker tweeted. He conveyed relief about his and his team’s safety but expressed profound grief and anger over the extensive casualties and destruction.
“My team and I are now safe, but like many, we are shaken, angered, and heartbroken by the hundreds killed, the thousands injured, those taken hostage, and all who are directly affected by these sickening terrorist attacks,” the Senator continued.
Booker emphasized his deepened commitment to supporting Israel in the aftermath of the traumatic experience. “After this experience, more than ever, I am committed to working with my colleagues in the Senate to continue supporting Israel’s security and ensuring stability in the region,” he stated, holding onto hope for lasting peace in the region in the future.
