ALEXANDRIA, VA – A 15-year-old male was injured in a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of Montgomery and North Patrick Streets at approximately 3:02 p.m. on October 4.

Following the accident involving a Penske truck, the juvenile was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Subsequent to the initial incident, the truck’s driver proceeded to the vicinity of George Washington Middle School, nearly hitting more students. To safeguard the students and halt the vehicle’s progression, the School Resource Officer (SRO) drew his service weapon. The driver then fled the scene, avoiding further harm to anyone.

George Washington Middle School subsequently implemented a “secure the building” protocol for under 10 minutes, barring entry or exit from the school, though internal activities continued as usual.

The truck was later found at the Eisenhower Connector, without its driver.

Alexandria Police Department (APD) has not yet apprehended any suspects, and they’re seeking community assistance in gathering further details or eyewitness accounts. Individuals with pertinent information are encouraged to contact APD at (703) 746-4444.
