Woman Fatally Shot in Belleville, Suspect Arrested

BELLEVILLE, NJ – A fatal shooting was reported in Belleville on Sunday.

Belleville police arrived at a residence on the 100 block of Meacham Street shortly before 10:30 a.m., discovering Erica Voloshin, 37, of Nutley, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Voloshin was declared dead at the scene at 10:42 a.m.

Scott Hurring, 43, of Belleville, has been arrested in connection with the shooting. He faces charges of murder and unlawful possession of a weapon.

The nature of the relationship between Hurring and Voloshin remains undetermined. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is continuing the investigation and is asking anyone with information to contact their tip line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
