BRIDGEVILLE, DE – Richard Weston, a 51-year-old resident of Seaford, Delaware, was arrested by Delaware State Police on Friday for felony assault and weapon-related charges. On Thursday, at around 4:17 p.m., troopers responded to a call on the 12000 block of Jones Dogwood Lane in Bridgeville, Delaware, regarding an assault.
Upon arrival, troopers found two injured female victims, aged 54 and 36, both from Bridgeville. Investigations revealed that Weston had trespassed onto their property and assaulted them.
The 54-year-old victim suffered puncture injuries to her torso, inflicted with a garden rake, while the 36-year-old victim sustained a swollen eye and a laceration on her left hand.
Weston fled the scene on foot before the troopers arrived. An arrest warrant was issued, and he was located and arrested on Friday. He faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
Weston was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $83,050 cash bond. Delaware State Police are asking anyone with further information to come forward.
