Burglar Arrested After Police Find Stolen Goods at Local Pawn Shop

CUMBERLAND, MD – Richard Allen Lowry faces a myriad of legal troubles after Cumberland Police served him with an arrest warrant and additional bench warrants.

On September 14, officers of the Cumberland Police Department arrested Richard Allen Lowry, 33, based on an arrest warrant originating from a theft report on August 19. A homeowner on Patterson Avenue had captured video surveillance of Lowry allegedly removing items from their residence. Police continued their investigation, leading to the discovery of the stolen property at a local pawn shop. During this time, they also found receipts with Lowry’s personal information.

Lowry was served with two additional bench warrants and was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center. He faces charges of theft ranging from $1,500 to $25,000, possession of CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substances) not marijuana, and violation of probation for a theft scheme ranging from $100 to $1,500.
