GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – A note indicating a bomb threat prompted an evacuation at Ann Mullen Middle School early Tuesday morning.
At about 8:50 a.m., school officials informed a Gloucester Township Police School Resource Officer of the note, found in a bathroom, that claimed there was a bomb in the building. Following emergency protocols, students were evacuated and temporarily relocated to Timber Creek High School.
Additional police officers, along with Camden County Sheriff’s Department and Cherry Hill Police Department’s explosive detection K-9 units, conducted thorough searches inside and outside the school. No explosive devices were discovered. School officials allowed students and staff to return to the building shortly after the search concluded.
Gloucester Township Fire Department Station 85 and Inspira EMS also provided support during the incident.
A juvenile student has been arrested in connection to the threat and charged with False Public Alarms, a second-degree crime. The identity of the juvenile is withheld due to age considerations.
