UTICA, NY – On Tuesday at approximately 8:40 PM, Utica Police Department Patrol officers conducted a vehicle stop on Mohawk St and Sherman Dr for New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
The driver, identified as Travonte Parker, born on April 14, 2000, was found to have a suspended driving privilege in the State of New York.
Upon Parker’s exit from the vehicle, officers observed a loaded handgun on the driver’s seat.
Parker was immediately placed in handcuffs, and the weapon, identified as a loaded 9mm Glock, was secured.
Parker was transported to the Utica Police Department and was charged by members of the GIVE Unit and Patrol with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second and third degrees, as well as Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
