CALVERT COUNTY, MD – Sheriff Cox and the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office educated students on career prospects within the criminal justice system today.
Sheriff Cox and members of the command staff spoke at two separate schools. The team visited Mrs. Lister’s Criminal Investigation’s class at Calvert High School in the morning. In the afternoon, they presented to students in Mr. Devilbiss’s Criminal Investigation’s class at Patuxent High School. Both schools hosted engaged students interested in law enforcement careers.During the presentations, deputies emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean background, keeping an open mind, and pursuing one’s dreams. The visits aimed to inspire students to consider joining the force in roles such as Correctional Deputies or Sheriff’s Deputies.The Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to both schools for the opportunity and shared their eagerness to see students join their Explorer’s Program, a stepping stone to law enforcement roles within the community.
