19 Pitbull Puppies Rescued After Being Dumped in Parking Lot

WYANDANCH, NY – Nineteen pit bull puppies were rescued from a vehicle parked in Wyandanch by First Precinct Crime Section officers on Friday night, saving them from deplorable conditions.

While on routine patrol, the officers noticed a 2022 Jeep Compass parked at 301 Merritt Ave. Inside, they found the puppies confined to two crates, lacking adequate air, shelter, food, and water, and covered in feces.

The animals were immediately transported to local shelters for care.

Two men from North Carolina were subsequently arrested and each charged with 19 counts of Neglect of an Impounded Animal.

The officers’ timely intervention has been credited with saving the lives of the 19 puppies, who are now receiving proper care at local animal shelters.
