QUEENS, NY – Authorities charged Christopher Lall and Steve Salamalay with multiple counts of weapon possession following the execution of search warrants at multiple locations. The warrants led to the seizure of a dozen illegal firearms, including ghost guns, as well as high-capacity magazines, ammunition, and weapon manufacturing tools.
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz emphasized the danger illegal weapons pose to the community. Her office has made it a priority to remove such firearms from the streets.
Lall, a resident of Hillside Avenue in Jamaica, was arraigned on a 57-count complaint. The charges include various degrees of weapon possession, criminal sale of a firearm, and criminal possession of ammunition. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison. Judge Stephanie Zaro scheduled Lall’s next court appearance for September 19.
Salamalay, who resides on 89th Avenue in Jamaica, was arraigned on a 40-count complaint. His charges also span various degrees of weapon possession, criminal sale of a firearm, criminal possession of ammunition, and failure to obtain firearms certificates of registration. Judge Zaro ordered Salamalay to return to court on the same date as Lall. If convicted, Salamalay also faces up to 15 years in prison.
