ROSEDALE, MD – A 67-year-old man from Rosedale became $50,000 richer after winning the top prize in the Ca$h Multiplier scratch-off game.
The man, a sporadic Lottery player, purchased the winning ticket about a month prior from White Marsh Plaza Liquors. He chose to buy a $2 instant ticket along with the $5 Ca$h Multiplier game.
Instead of revealing the entire play area, he scanned the prize check barcodes on both tickets. The Ca$h Multiplier game yielded a $50,000 win.
The retiree stated he was eager to scratch off the entire ticket at home to confirm how he won. After verifying the win, he waited for his wife and son, who were out of town, to share the news.
The winner’s son, initially skeptical, verified the win before helping his father claim the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. The winner plans to spend the money on a new car, home furniture, and gifts for family members.
White Marsh Plaza Liquors will also receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize ticket.
This marks the fourth top prize claimed in the Ca$h Multiplier game since its release in June. Four more $50,000 top prizes and over 752,000 other prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000 remain unclaimed.
