Ellicott City, MD – (August 23): Howard County police are currently investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred yesterday afternoon in Ellicott City.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., a 2023 Kawasaki EX650, operated by 29-year-old Tyler McConnell of Sykesville, was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Pine Orchard Lane through the Route 40 intersection. The motorcycle lost control, left the road, and struck a light pole.
McConnell was transported to Howard County General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The collision led to the temporary closure of the 10100 block of Frederick Road for about two hours as emergency personnel responded to the scene.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with additional information to come forward.
