ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department reported the arrest of a registered sex offender who tried to lure a child on Sunday.

At 5:33 PM, Officers Jermaine Clay and Bayron Zelaya-Chavez responded to a call on the first block of north Sovereign Avenue.

A 12-year-old girl’s parents informed the officers that a man on a bicycle had tried to beckon their daughter into a backyard using hand signals and whistles. The girl alerted her parents, and the man fled the scene on his bicycle.
