Officers on routine patrol were met with the sound of gunshots shortly before 4 p.m., leading them to witness a female discharging a firearm from a third-floor apartment window at the 300 block of Anacostia Road.

The officers summoned additional support, secured the surroundings to uphold local safety, and advanced toward the apartment in question. Upon entry, they took custody of the two adults who were present alongside the children. The discovery of a firearm and its ammunition followed, both of which were seized as evidence and subsequently determined to be stolen.
