Woman Assaulted and Robbed Inside Elevator, Suspect Flees with $25

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department continues its investigation into a robbery in a Manhattan building.

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 29, around 12:15 pm when a 26-year-old woman was reportedly assaulted and robbed while exiting an elevator.

According to the police report, an unknown man pulled the woman back into the elevator, struck her in the head with an object concealed in a sock, and stole $25 from her purse before fleeing on a bicycle west on East 27 Street. The victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

As the investigation continues, additional footage of the suspect has been released. The New York City Police Department asks for the public’s assistance in identifying the man.
