NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying a group of individuals involved in a series of grand larcenies across the city.
The first of these incidents occurred on Sunday, July 23, around 8:20 pm. An 87-year-old woman was approached by two unknown individuals outside of a private residence near 18th Avenue and Cropsey Avenue. The suspects placed a gold chain around the victim’s wrist, subsequently stealing her bracelet valued at approximately $1,000.
The second incident occurred on Tuesday, July 25, at about 8:00 pm. This time, a 70-year-old woman was outside a private residence near 169th Street and 26th Avenue when she was approached by two individuals who placed a necklace around her neck and removed her own necklace valued at approximately $2,900.
The third incident took place on Wednesday, July 26, around 12:30 pm. A 76-year-old man was targeted in front of Costco at 2975 Richmond Avenue. Two unknown individuals handed him fake jewelry and watches and then removed the victim’s Rolex watch and gold chain, valued at around $9,000.
The suspects in each case fled the scene, and none of the victims reported any injuries. The New York City Police Department continues its investigations into these grand larceny incidents.
