Suspected Armed Robber Arrested Following Pursuit in Laurel

LAUREL, MD – Kasiya Davone Smith, a 22-year-old man from Baltimore, Maryland, was arrested following an armed robbery incident that initially took place in Prince George’s County.

On Monday, at around 3:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of Charlotte Drive and Jill Lane in Laurel.

As officers were proceeding to the scene, they noticed the suspect vehicle, a silver Hyundai Sonata, at the intersection of Laurel Fort Meade Road and Old Annapolis Road. Upon attempting to pull over the vehicle, the driver accelerated away.

Officers pursued the vehicle to a dead-end street, where the driver eventually halted, and the occupants were arrested without further incidents.

Prince George’s County Police detectives then arrived at the scene and the driver was charged accordingly.
