Homicide in Queens: Investigation Update

QUEENS, NY – Investigations into the homicide of Cheryl Myrick, a 58-year-old woman from Queens, has ended in an arrest.

On Tuesday, the New York Police Department’s Homicide Unit announced the arrest of Roscoe Danielson, a 40-year-old male resident of the same address as Myrick.

The initial investigation began on Thursday, July 6, when police conducted a wellness check at the address following an undisclosed tip-off.

Myrick was discovered unconscious inside the apartment with visible signs of trauma to her torso. Emergency medical services pronounced her deceased at the scene.

The investigation further extended to another incident that occurred on the preceding day, Wednesday, July 5. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an unidentified adult male found unconscious inside a garbage bag nearby.

The male was later identified as Kyle Danielson, a 31-year-old resident of the same address, who also had a puncture wound to his back and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Roscoe Danielson was arrested and charged in relation to both incidents. The charges include two counts of murder, two counts of criminal possession of a loaded firearm, two counts of concealment of a human corpse, two counts of tampering with physical evidence, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

The investigation into these events remains ongoing by the Homicide Unit of the New York Police Department. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
