RYE, NY – Riders on a ride at a New York amusement park got the ride of their lives after being stuck going in reverse at a high speed for almost ten minutes.
The fun-filled day at Rye Playland, an amusement park near New York City, turned into a distressing ordeal for guests when a ride malfunctioned, subjecting them to an unending and terrifying spinning experience. The incident occurred on July 23 and left riders traumatized after the Music Express ride failed to stop spinning.
Witness video footage captured the alarming scene, as children and adults aboard the ride were spinning in reverse, unable to halt the motion. Reports suggest that the ride spun in reverse for an excruciating duration, lasting up to 10 minutes.
Amid the chaos, ride operators promptly attempted an emergency stop, but their efforts proved futile, failing to bring the ride to a halt. The situation quickly escalated, necessitating the intervention of maintenance crews, who were called to disconnect the ride’s power to finally bring an end to the unnerving experience.
Guests onboard described the 10 minutes of uncontrollable spinning as feeling like an eternity, with fear and panic gripping their emotions throughout the ordeal. The incident left many traumatized, raising concerns about safety protocols and ride maintenance at the amusement park.
Park officials investigated the nerve-racking incident and revealed that an electrical malfunction was the root cause of the endless spinning. Fortunately, no injuries were reported concerning the malfunction, sparing the guests from physical harm.
