CUMBERLAND, MD – A Cumberland woman was charged with assaulting a police officer during her arrest on open warrants this weekend.
On July 29, officers from the Cumberland Police Department apprehended Batricia Lynn Nave, aged 39, in Cumberland, Maryland. The arrest was executed in response to five separate Arrest Warrants issued against her.
She was wanted for a previous incident at a local cemetery.
These Arrest Warrants resulted from various incidents on the same date, including allegations of threats towards State Officials, Destruction of Property, and Theft. While serving the Arrest Warrants, Nave resisted and attempted to pull away from the officers. During her arrest, she also kicked one of the officers as they were escorting her to a police vehicle.
Following her apprehension, Nave was transferred to the Allegany County Detention Center for custody. Initially, her bail was set at $500 for each charge, amounting to $3,500. Subsequently, the required amount for her release was posted.
The charges brought against Batricia Lynn Nave include Assault on Police, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Destruction of Property, Theft of Less Than $100, and making Threats to Injure a State Official and transmitting Threats to a State Official. The legal proceedings will follow as per the established legal procedures in Maryland.
