TOMS RIVER, NJ – As the summer heat continues, Ocean County residents looking for relief from the scorching temperatures can find respite at one of the many branches of the Ocean County library system. These library branches offer a cool and welcoming environment for visitors to beat the heat while exploring a vast array of reading materials.
Joseph H. Vicari, Director of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners and liaison to the library system, encourages residents to reach out to their preferred library branch ahead of their visit, as operating hours may vary from location to location. With a total of 21 county library branches spread throughout Ocean County, some branches may close earlier than others. Although not designated as official cooling centers, these libraries serve as excellent spots to escape the summer heat and enjoy a peaceful reading experience.
In addition to visiting the library branches, residents can also inquire with their local municipalities about potential cooling sites that may be available in their area.
