FREEHOLD, NJ – A PTA Mom has been charged for stealing money from an elementary school fund.
. Roxanne Blasucci, 44, who acted as the treasurer for a PTA at a Manalapan Township elementary school, stands accused of pilfering more than $12,000 of the organization’s funds.
Charges against Blasucci include third-degree Theft by Unlawful Taking and fourth-degree Uttering a Forged Instrument. The Manalapan Police Department, in cooperation with the MCPO Financial Crimes & Public Corruption Unit, initiated the investigation earlier this year.
Blasucci has been connected to the Taylor Mills School PTA, an institution that houses several hundred students, since at least 2018. Financial impropriety was identified when cash raised from PTA fundraising events and entrusted to Blasucci for deposit showed discrepancies.
Evidence gathered from financial records and witness statements indicate that, on three occasions between December 2021 and April 2022, Blasucci prepared bank statements for the PTA displaying deposits exceeding $18,500. However, official bank records showed deposits amounting to just over $6,000. In June 2022, Blasucci allegedly altered a PTA bank statement, concealing a debit card transaction for $75.69 at a local Panera Bread.
Blasucci was served the charges via a summons and awaits future court proceedings. Information regarding her legal representation was not immediately available. MCPO Financial Crimes & Public Corruption Bureau Director Lawrence Nelsen will be prosecuting the case.
