WEST SHORE, PA – Following a jury trial on Thursday, Ernesto Murillo was found guilty of multiple sexual offences against a child less than 13 years of age.
The charges include Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Statutory Sexual Assault, Corruption of Minors, and Solicitation to Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse.
The case came to light when the West Shore Regional Police Department discovered that Murillo had solicited a 12-year-old child to engage in sexual conduct. The case was brought to trial where the victim testified against Murillo, who was also confronted with evidence of his admission to the act when confronted by the child’s guardian.
Murillo’s case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Lauren Perchinski. The District Attorney’s Office has expressed its gratitude towards Detective Nikki Sheaffer and the West Shore Regional Police Department for their thorough investigation of the incident.
A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for October 24, for Murillo. The details of his confinement pending the sentencing are yet to be disclosed.
