ASBURY PARK, NJ – Three people were shot and one was killed at an Asbury Park apartment complex overnight.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Tuesday that an active investigation is underway regarding a shooting incident in Asbury Park, which resulted in one fatality and injuries to two other individuals.
The Asbury Park Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at the Asbury Park Gardens apartment complex on Atlantic Avenue shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Monday, July 3. Upon arrival, officers quickly located three adult male victims who had sustained injuries.
Emergency medical services were immediately summoned, and all three individuals were promptly transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment. While two of the victims were found to have non-life-threatening injuries, tragically, the third victim was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital. The identity of the deceased is being withheld temporarily to allow for proper notification of the family.
The investigation into this incident is being jointly conducted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Asbury Park Police Department. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding this matter to come forward and assist in the investigation.
