PHILADELPHIA, PA – A series of commercial burglaries struck the 1st and 3rd Districts on June 24 and Monday. The South Detective Division is investigating these incidents.

On Saturday morning, June 24, the 3rd District Police responded to an attempted burglary at Honey Nail Salon on 200 W Oregon Ave. Damage was observed to the business’s side door, but no entry was gained, and nothing was taken.

Later that day, at around 1:53 am, Oregon Market at 320 Oregon Ave reported a burglary. An unknown person entered the business through an unlocked side door and forced their way into the adjoining Hai Van restaurant, where they rummaged through an empty cash register before breaking into the Oregon Market. The suspect fled shortly after the security alarm was activated.

A series of incidents continued into the early morning of Sunday. Reports from various businesses, including Mui Chung Restaurant and Sweet Treats Hut, revealed burglary and vandalism with stolen cash registers, cash, and other items. The suspect’s actions were consistent across all incidents.

The burglary spree continued on Monday, at Harmony Nail Salon and Spa, Main Squeeze Philly, and Pizzeria Pesto. The suspect gained entry by breaking front glass doors and stole cash registers, cash, and other items.

The suspect, a black male aged between 35-55 years old with a full beard, was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, a grey shirt, black Nike pants, grey and black sneakers with white soles, and was carrying a shoulder bag. The South Detective Division asks the public not to approach but to call 911 if they spot the suspect.
