Cumberland, MD – The Cumberland City Police have made an arrest in connection with a violation of a protective order and assault that occurred on June 26th. Jason Thomas Crandall, a 39-year-old individual, was taken into custody after officers responded to a report of a violation of a protective order at a residence on the 400 block of Henderson Ave.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers confirmed that Crandall had an active Protective Order prohibiting him from being at the residence. Furthermore, it was discovered that Crandall was wanted on an active Arrest Warrant related to an incident that took place on June 23rd at the same location. During that incident, it is alleged that Crandall violated the protective order and assaulted a victim inside the home.
Following his apprehension, Crandall was taken before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance. The commissioner remanded him to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond.
Jason Thomas Crandall is facing multiple charges, including four counts of Violating a Protective Order and one count of Assault in the Second Degree. These charges highlight the seriousness of the alleged offenses committed by Crandall.
