PITTSBURGH, PA – A series of shootings occurred early Sunday morning across Pittsburgh, resulting in multiple injuries and one fatality. Incidents were reported Downtown, in Homewood South, and on the North Side, according to Pittsburgh Public Information Officer, Cara Cruz.
The first incident was reported around 4 a.m. at the intersection of William Penn Place and Sixth Avenue in Downtown, where a man was shot in the hip. Passers-by rendered aid to the victim until medics arrived to transport him to the hospital in stable condition.
At approximately 5 a.m., officers responded to a gunfire report outside a nightclub in the Homewood South neighborhood. Two men were rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds, one of whom is currently in critical condition.
A man was shot and killed near the intersection of Federal Street and West North Avenue on the North Side, shortly before 7 a.m.
The victim was riding his bike when he got into a verbal altercation before being shot. The investigations into these incidents continue, and individuals with information are asked to contact the police at 412-323-7800.
