BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ – A 25-year-old man from Willingboro Township, Marvin A. Coleman Jr., was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old woman, Maribely Lopez, four years ago. The sentence was delivered by the Hon. Gerard H. Breland, J.S.C., on Wednesday in Mount Holly.
Coleman was found guilty of Felony Murder, Murder, Robbery, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in March 2023. The incident occurred on March 7, 2019, when Lopez was found in her car with a gunshot wound. The investigation concluded that Coleman had arranged to buy a used cell phone from Lopez via the marketplace app OfferUp but shot her instead.
