BALTIMORE, MD – A retiree from Baltimore County, who previously worked as a truck driver, won a $50,000 top prize playing a $5 Hot 7s Tripler scratch-off. The 71-year-old man enjoys playing scratch-offs, especially new games.

He purchased the winning ticket from Owings Mills Sunoco located at 10812 Reisterstown Road. After scratching off the ticket in his car, he was surprised to discover his $50,000 win. He has shared the news only with his daughter and plans to use the winnings to pay bills. Owings Mills Sunoco will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket. The Hot 7s Tripler game, part of the Hot family of games, was introduced on May 22 and originally had eight $50,000 top prizes.

There are currently six top prizes and nine $5,000 prizes remaining. Other games in the Hot family include $1 Hot 7s, $2 Hot 7s Doubler, $3 Red Hot Cash, and $10 Hot 7s Multiplier.

In April, a $20 Hot 777 instant ticket was also released.
