SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney recently announced that Joseph Douglas, a 42-year-old resident of Riverhead, was found guilty of felony drug charges after a jury trial. These charges stemmed from a search warrant executed at Douglas’ residence in December 2021, resulting in the recovery of over half an ounce of cocaine, three digital scales, and cash.
On Tuesday, Douglas was found guilty of two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B felony, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Douglas, who has prior convictions for attempted murder and other offenses, is scheduled to be sentenced on July 10, 2023, and faces up to 15 years in prison.
