Odenton Man Arrested for Hate Crime at Local Church

ODENTON, MD – Michael Deangelo Billups, a 28-year-old resident of Odenton, was arrested on Friday, by Western District detectives for an act of vandalism at the Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church. The incident took place around 9:15 p.m., when detectives observed Billups park his vehicle on Piney Orchard Parkway and approach the church’s LGBTQ+ sign.

He began removing the rainbow hearts surrounding the sign. Detectives initiated a brief foot pursuit before arresting Billups without further incident. Charges were subsequently filed.
