FRANKLIN TWP., NJ – Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald announced on Monday the arrest of three juveniles in connection with the homicide of 57-year-old Kofi Addo, which occurred in Franklin Township last Thursday.
Mr. Addo, a taxi driver from North Brunswick, was found suffering from a gunshot wound after his taxi had crashed into a parked vehicle on Sydney Place. He was transported to a local trauma center where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation revealed that the juveniles intended to rob Mr. Addo, resulting in one of the juveniles shooting him. All three juveniles were located and arrested the following day, Friday.
The juveniles are currently being held at the Middlesex County found guilty of First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, two counts of First Degree Assault, two counts of Second Degree Assault, two counts of Reckless Endangerment, along with firearm-related charges.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Homicide Unit continues to investigate the incident that took place in Edgewater.
