CUMBERLAND, MD – Two separate assault incidents led to arrests on Wednesday, according to the Cumberland Police Department.

In the first incident at around 5:00 pm, officers responded to a reported assault on Maple Street. The victim reported that Patrick Wayne Wallizer, 42, had shoved and struck them with a closed fist. Wallizer was arrested and later released on an unsecured $1,000 bond. He faces a charge of second-degree assault.

Later that night, at approximately 11:20 pm, officers responded to an assault report on West Industrial Boulevard. The complainant, Christopher Dale Bradshaw, 24, alleged that he was assaulted by several individuals who had been blocking the roadway on Grand Avenue. However upon investigation, officers determined that Bradshaw was the aggressor in the altercation. Witnesses reported that Bradshaw initiated the confrontation and attempted to strike a juvenile before a fight ensued.

Bradshaw was reported to have strangled the juvenile until witnesses intervened. Bradshaw was then arrested and now awaits trial with charges of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and disorderly conduct.
