NEW YORK, NY – A 67-year-old man was the victim of an unprovoked attack in Greenwich Village early Friday morning.

The incident happened at around 8:18 a.m. in front of 388 Avenue of the Americas.

According to the police report, a 67-year-old man was standing at the location when an unknown individual approached him and punched him twice in the face without provocation.

The victim suffered bruises and swelling to his face. The attacker then fled southbound on 6th Avenue on foot.

The NYPD has released a photo of the suspect and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
