WILMINGTON, DE – Police are investigating a gunshot incident at an Applebee’s restaurant in Wilmington.

Gunfire erupted outside a Wilmington Applebee’s at 4301 Kirkwood Highway on Thursday night, prompting an investigation by Delaware State Police.

Officers responded to the restaurant just after 10:30 p.m. following reports of a gunshot being fired.

According to detectives investigating the shooting, a male and female were sitting at the bar when the male left, tapped on the window while displaying a handgun, and fired a round into the air.

The female then exited the restaurant, and both individuals fled the scene.

No injuries were reported, and troopers were able to locate a single spent shell casing on the sidewalk in front of the Applebee’s. Authorities are continuing to investigate and urge anyone with information to come forward.
