One dead in shootout in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, PA – On Friday, Allentown Police Department officers responded to a report of shots fired on the 1100 block of Maple Street.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The officers rendered aid and the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

He was later pronounced dead.

The case is being treated as a homicide, and the ongoing investigation involves the Allentown Police Department, Lehigh County District Attorney’s Homicide Task Force, and the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

No suspects have been arrested at this time.
